Highlands Christian is no stranger to regional play, advancing for the 7th time in the past 10 seasons. Friday, the Knights (15-10) will play at Miami Brito in a Class 1A regional final.

Kyle Pitts has been Coral Springs Christian’s three-hole hitter for four years, and his success this year has earned him the District 14-2A Player of the Year honor.

After fourteen years as the head coach at Douglas, Dean Florio was told today by administration that his contract will not be renewed for next season.

Western Head Coach Sonny Hansley is calling it a career. Hansley has been a head coach for twenty-eight years in Broward County, and has compiled a record of 570-377.

North Broward Prep and American Heritage have battled all season long. On Friday, it was the Eagles who advanced to within one game of states with a 5-3 victory over Heritage.

Archbishop McCarthy escaped a hostile environment with a 12-2 win over Key West on Friday. The Mavericks will now move on to the regional final game next Friday at home.

Flanagan is headed back to the 6A regional finals after defeating district rival West Broward in a semi-final game, 12-2. Ricky Santiago led the way with two home runs for the Falcons.

A couple home runs and a near no-hitter by freshman pitcher Eric Hepple powered Highlands Christian over Boca Raton Christian in a regional semi-final Friday night.

Coral Springs had high expectations heading into this year’s regional playoffs. Tuesday, CS ran into a hungry Park Vista team that came away with a win that ended the Colts season.

American Heritage Delray has had Calvary Christian’s number the past couple of years, and on Tuesday the Stallions again defeated their 2A foes, 7-2, in a regional quarterfinal.

Class 4A defending state champion Archbishop McCarthy cruised to a 12-2 win in six innings over Belen Jesuit. The Mavericks play at Key West on Friday in a regional semifinal.

Tyler Draughon pitched 4 and 2/3’s innings of relief for West Broward as they beat District Champions McArthur and advance to the regional semifinal.

Defending Class 6A state champion Flanagan (23-2) cruised to a 17-0 win over South Plantation (11-13) in the regional quarterfinal. The Falcons host West Broward on Friday.

Nova has grown accustomed to shutting down opponents with their pitching, but in their regional quarterfinal game it was Wellington’s pitching that dominated.

Coral Springs Christian came into Tuesday’s regional quarterfinal game against Kings Academy red hot, but they left on the losing end of a 9-4 final.

Coral Springs Christian won its second straight District 14-2A title following a marathon, 10-inning 5-3 win over Calvary Christian Academy. Both teams advance to regional play.
