University School 2, Chaminade-Madonna 1 – The Suns improved to 2-0 in District 4A-13 with the win over the Lions. Michael White struck out two in one inning pitched and went 1-for-3 with a 2B and RBI. Andrew Denis went 1-for-2 with a triple and RBI. Mike Nader pitched two innings for Lions, who got hits from Mike Ramunno (2B) and Juan Martinez (RBI).


Cardinal Gibbons 8, Fort Lauderdale 5 (8 innings) – Tyler Norris squeezed the go ahead run in the eighth inning to give the Chiefs their first win of the season as they tune up for today’s first-ever HSBN Broward County Game of the Week.


Deerfield Beach 9, Northeast 5 – Frank Moschette went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, and Brian Johnson went 3-for-5 with a run and three RBIs as the Bucks kept the momentum going from Wednesday’s big win over Cardinal Gibbons. George Edmunds also had three hits and scored.


Coral Glades 11, Monarch 1 – Christian Dominguez earned his second win of the week, pitching a complete game, striking out five and walking one as the Jaguars stayed hot after a big district win the previous day. Jacob Melton went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs and a sacrifice fly. Alex Lara went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a run and three stolen bases.


Pompano Beach 11, Dillard 0 – Matt Fengler and Shaw Pinnell each went 2-for-3 with a double. Fengler drove in five runs and Pinnell two.


Stranahan 15, Ely 0 – Ariel Vargas allowed one in four innings and went 3 for 4, as did Chris Ford. Austin Ford had a hit as well.
