Cardinal Gibbons 4, Chaminade-Madonna 3 (8 innings) – The Chiefs picked up their third win of the year and second in the district for fifth place as Mark Nowatnick hit a walkoff home run with one out in the eighth. Matt Moormann’s RBI double in the seventh tied the score at three. Grant Trower went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run for Gibbons. Adam Toombs went 2-for-4 with a double for Chaminade.
Coral Springs Christian 10, Highlands Christian 0 – Benito Santiago went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs to lead the Crusaders (8-2) in the 3A-14 game. Eric Hepple went 2-for-2 with a double, run and RBI, and James Buckley went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Penrom Borrows had two hits as well, both of them doubles, and scored three runs and drove in two more. Touki Toussaint struck out eight and allowed three hits in a complete-game performance.
North Broward Prep 14, Trinity Christian 6 – Matt Nathanson went 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs to power the Eagles to their sixth consecutive win as they improved to 7-2.
