St. Thomas 10, South Broward 0 – Frank Rubio and Kevin Balfour combined to no-hit the Bulldogs (7-3) in a match-up for first place in 7A-16. Rubio tossed five innings, walking two and striking out nine, and Balfour pitched an inning, striking out one to complete the no-no as the Raiders moved to the top of the district at 5-1 (8-3 overall). Peter Nicoletto went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two doubles, and Rafa Amanau went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs.
Cardinal Gibbons 8, North Broward Prep 1 – Tyler Norris struck out 13 and allowed three hits in six innings to pace the Chiefs (4-4), who moved into third place in 4A-13 at 3-2. Connor Durkin went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs, and David Pedraza went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Chris Williams also had two hits, including a homer, and drove in two.
Chaminade-Madonna 8, Coral Springs Charter 3 – Julian Pino led the Lions (2-7-2) offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run. Mike Ramunno went 1-for-3 with two runs an an RBI, and Danny Vitello went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Matthew Fierman went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Cody Woodburn went 2-for-3 with a stole base.
Coral Springs Christian 16, Pine Crest 5 – The Crusaders (10-2) extended their winning streak to four games as Touki Toussaint went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Benito Santiago doubled and scored twice, and Eric Hepple and Joey Depalo each went 1-for-2 with a two RBIs and a run. Devin Meyer struck out four in four innings, walking one. He also went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Faith Baptist 9, Westminster Academy 4 – The Lions fell to 5-7-1 and lost their second in a row despite the efforts of Zach Warienus (2-for-2 with an RBI and a run) and Zack Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a double, stolen base and RBI, and Zack Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a double, stolen base, run and RBI.
Monarch 11, Plantation 2 – Nick Alonzo struck out six in six innings, allowed one walk and one earned ruin. At the plate, he went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Gino Poliandro went 5-for-5 with two doubles and three runs, and Anthony Morales went 4-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs.
McArthur 11, Miramar 1 – Alex Schultz struck out six in five innings to help power the Mustangs (4-6). Javier Aguilar went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, and Mike Velez went 3-for-4 with three runs. Mike Bosco had two hits, drove in three runs and scored twice.
Douglas 15, Deerfield Beach 0 – Dominic DiCaprio went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs as the Eagles (8-2) bounced back from a loss to Coral Glades to maintain their place as second in the district.
Coral Springs 12, Piper 2 – Davis Alessio went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Colton Smith went 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Colts improved to 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the district.
Cora Glades 16, South Plantation 6 – Jacob Melton went 5-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and four RBIs as the Jaguars (7-1) stayed on top of the 8A-11 standings. Alex Lara went 3-for-5 with a run and RBI. Brian Godoy went 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBIs and two runs. Bryan Keeler went 2-for-4 with a triple, three runs.
Cooper City 3, Northeast 2 – John Haney pitched three relief innings, striking out 2 for the Cowboys (5-4).
