Chaminade-Madonna earned its first win of the season in grand fashion, rallying for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat 4A-13 foe University 6-5 among Thursday’s action around the county….


Chaminade-Madonna 6, University School 5 – Mike Ramunno went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, and Juan Martinez went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run for the Lions (1-6-2). Julian Pino doubled and scored twice. Andrew Denis went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Sebastian Diaz homered and scored twice for the Suns (4-2). Evan Klugerman had two hits and a run.


Calvary Christian 11, Sagemont 2 – Andrew Gottfried struck out six in five innings as the Eagles (5-2-1) won their fourth in a row. Keith Oren went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a stolen base and a run, and Luke Porier went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs. Stephen Barnett had two hits, three stolen bases, a run and an RBI.


North Broward Prep 14, Lake Highland Prep 5 – AJ Fidalic went 5-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs to power the Eagles on the road. North Broward (5-2) is on a four-game winning streak.


Piper 16, Stranahan 6 – Zach Crosno and Eric Rath each went 3-for-4 to lead the Bengals (3-5). Jovanni Alamo and Kenny Stanley each went 3-for-4 for the Mighty Dragons (3-5). Austin Ford went 2-for–3




Dillard 15, Hallandale 5 – Lance Nelson went 2-for-5 with three runs and four RBI, and Cleveland Westbrook went 2-for-3 with four runs for the Panthers (3-4). Jerome Griswell had a hit, four walks and and four ruis.


Coral Springs Christian 4, Westminster Academy 0 – Devin Meyer allowed no earned runs while striking out seven for the Crusaders (7-2) in the 3A-14 game. James Bukley went 1-for-3, Touki Toussaint had a hit and a run. Abraham Alejandro went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, and run.
