Daily Recaps For Broward County Games on Wednesday, March 27th
Douglas and American Heritage will face off in the Selective Recruiting/Sir Pizza Invitational Championship, played Saturday at the University of Miami.
McArthur 10, Piper 3 – Jorge Alvarez allowed two hits over five innings to lead the Mustangs (5-10) in the fifth-place game of the Titan Spring Classic. Joseph Spano went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bengals (4-11).
Flanagan 8, Spruce Creek 6 – The Falcons (12-2) won their 11th in a row as Ryan Dodge went 2-for-2 and Eric Rivera 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
West Broward 5, Miami Brito 1 – Matt Hardy had a career day, striking out 14 and allowing no earned runs or walks in a complete-game performance to pace the Bobcats (9-4), who went 2-1 in the Selective Recruiting Invitational. Christian Khawly went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Danny Vasquez went 1-for-3 with a run. Samyr Santos went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Dalton Brockman had a hit and scored. Danny Pardo had two hits and two stolen bases.
University School 8, C.D. Hylton 6 – Jordan Budwig went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Suns (10-4) in the Sunshine Classic.
Viera 3, Pine Crest 2 – Eric Collazo went 1-for-1 with a walk, hit-by-pitch and run, and Chris Koppenhaver pitched five innings, allowing no earned runs for the Panthers (10-6) in the Sarasota Classic. Steven Goldberg, Adam Saks and Griffin Conine also had hits.
Palmetto 4, Coral Glades 3 – Thomas Santarcangelo went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs for the Jaguars (7-5) in the Sarasota Classic.
Cypress Bay 2, Seminole Ridge 0 – Danny Cepeda went 2-for-3 with a double, and Andrew Alvarez went 3-for-3 for the Lightning (8-4).
Westminster Academy 13, Miami Country Day 1 – Blake Kidwell pitched a complete game, walking none and striking out four. Josh Viveros went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Lions (9-9-1).
