Somerset 6, Cardinal Gibbons 5 (9 innings) – Etienne Latour hit a three-run home run in the top of the ninth to give the Panthers (11-13) the lead. Brandon Acevedo allowed three runs in five innings, and John Ham allowed two runs in three innings. Chris Medina doubled and drove in two runs.
Monarch 8, Olympic Heights 5 – Andrew Rohloff went 3-for-4 and pitched four innings in relief, allowing no runs while striking out five to pace the Knights (10-6), who have won two in a row. Nick Ritornato went 2-for-4 with an RBI, run and stolen base, and Nick Alonzo and Troy Brannen each went 1-for-4 with a double and RBI.
Pope John Paul II 8, Zion Lutheran 6 – Nick Vasquez went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, and Alex Ernestine went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Lions (9-8).
Pine Crest 15, Sagemont 5 – Steven Goldberg went 4-for-4, including a double, and Griffin Conine went 2-for-2 with a grand slam and five RBIs to power the Panthers (15-3), who rebounded from two consecutive 4A-13 losses last week. Matt Rothenberg went 2-for-4 with two dingers. The long ball was there, too, for the Lions (3-11). Brynn Martinez, Ashton Martinez and Brian McCarthy all homered.
Highlands Christian 3, Westminster Academy 2 – Deion Rosalia went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI to pace the Knights (9-9), who extended their winning streak to two games and evened their district record at 4-4 for third place.
Chaminade-Madonna 5, North Broward Prep 2 – Jose Colina and Shamari Thomas had a hit and drove in two runs each, and Mike Ramunno went 2-for-3 with a home run for the Lions (7-13-2) in the 14-3A matchup.
Coral Springs Christian 4, Calvary Christian 2 – Eric Hepple went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, and Penron Burrows wen 3-for-4 with a run and stolen base for the Crusaders (18-4), who won their third in a row. Andrew Liberty led Calvary, going 2-for-4 with a triple and a run.
Coral Springs 17, Deerfield Beach 1 – Mike Montalvo allowed two hits and struck out six in his five innings on the mound for the Colts (12-6), who are 4-1 in their past five games. Vinny Cerullo went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs.
Flanagan 10, Everglades 0 – Kharlin Sued allowed one hit and struck out four in his four innings of work for the Falcons (14-4), who completed their district schedule at 9-1. AJ Munoz went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and Oscar Rodriguez had two hits and two RBIs.
Taravella 5, Piper 0 – Matt Majewski pitched a complete-game five hitter, walking three, to pace the Trojans (9-10), who finish the regular season next Thursday at Pompano.
