Daily Recaps For Broward County Games on Thursday, April 18th

Calvary Christian 6, North Broward Prep 5 (8 innings) – Calvary battld back from four runs down in the fifth to tie North Broward Prep in the sixth inning and force extra innings on Senior Day at CCA. In the eighth, Luke Poirier lead off with an infield single, Connor Rowland doubled and Stephen Barnett was walked. With two down, Andrew Libety singled in the winning run. Senior Nick Kumar picked up his first win with two innings of no-hit relief.

Dade Christian 7, Highlands Christian 0 – Mitchell Carroll went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Kyle Bombardier had two hits and two RBIs for the Knights (9-10-1).

Pine Crest 10, Westminster Academy 7 – Scott Halperin went 1-for-2 with a three-run HR, walk and two runs, and Zack Kone went 2-for-4 with a home run for the Panthers (14-9-1). Matt Rothenberg hit a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly, and Ben Fiedler went 2-for-2 with a double and walk. Steven Goldberg and Eric Collazo (two RBI, double) added hits. Weston Clemente and Zach Warienus hit three-run home runs for the Lions (9-13-1). Josh Viveros added two hits, including a double, and Daniel D’Ornofrio also doubled. Blake Kidwell went 2-for-4.

University School 10, Sagemont 4 – Sebastian Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Michael White hit two triples for the Suns (15-6). Jordan Budwig had two hits, both of them doubles.

Cardinal Gibbons 8, Coral Springs Christian 2 – Tyler Norris went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, and Connor Durkin went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Chiefs (8-11).

Western 1, St. Thomas 0 – Alexander Villanueva had the winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to give the Wildcats (10-10) the walkoff win. Max Balter went 1-for-2 with a walk. Alec Byrd tossed five innings of shutout baseball for the Raiders (14-6).

Northeast 13, Stranahan 8 – Ralph Morel went 2-for-3 and scored four times, and DJ Kelly went 3-for-5 for the Hurricanes (10-9). Carlos Perez and Eduardo Uriarte hit homers. Ariel Vargas went 2-for-3 with three runs and a double, and Chris Ford went 2-for-3 for the Mighty Dragons (7-11).

Pompano Beach 6, Taravella 5 – Matt Fengler went 3-for-4 with a triple, home run and three RBIs for the Golden Tornadoes (8-10). Brian Krebs and Julio Baustista had two hits each for the Trojans (9-11). Both of Baustista’s hits were doubles.

Fort Lauderdale 4, Piper 1 (8 innings) – Matt Gibson squeezed Hunter Kay in for the tying run, and Enrique Rodriguez drove in pinch-runner Chase Navarro for the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth for the Flying L’s (12-7). Rodriguez and Alex Ferguson scored on wild pitches.

Coral Springs 6, Monarch 2 – Tre Dingus went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run for the Colts (13-6).

American Heritage 1, Douglas 0 (11 innings) – Anfernee Seymour scored the winning run on a wild pitch for the Stallions (13-12) in the bottom of the 11th inning. Anthony Hotujec struck out four in five innings, and Anthony Delaney struck out nine in six innings.

Park Vista 4, Flanagan 3 – Tyler Barre singled in Philip Sanitago from second with one out in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Cobras (17-6). Gabe Santana went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Deerfield Beach 3, Miramar 2 – JP Holgerson went 1-for-2 with a walk, and Zach Voss and Johnson also had hits for the Bucks (5-15).

Coral Glades 9, West Broward 8 – Tyler Steiner went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, two runs and three RBIs, and Jacob Melton went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs, a double and two runs for the Jaguars (12-6). Nick Diaz had two hits and two runs.

Cypress Bay 8, Cooper City 7 (8 innings) – Ji Woo went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and hit the winning sacrifice fly in the eighth for the Lightning (13-5). Danny Cepeda went 2-for-5, and Ben Fits went 2-for-4 with two runs, a three-run home run and four RBIs.
