Everglades 1, Western 0 – Adam Murray struck out 11 and allowed three hits in his complete-game gem Tuesday afternoon. He also helped his cause at the plate, going 1-for-2 with the winning RBI that scored Brandon DelPozo, who also had a hit. The Gators (11-4) are on a four-game winning streak and are in second place in 8A-12.
Zion Lutheran 10, St. Andrew’s 1 – Manny Rojas went 3-for-5 with two runs, and Alex Ernestine went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs as the Lions (9-6) rebounded from a loss in their last game. Nick Vasquez had three hits and three RBIs as well.
Pine Crest 8, Coral Springs Charter 5 – Steven Goldberg went 3-for-4 with two runs to head another strong hitting performance by the Panthers (12-6), who are in second place in 4A-13 along with Cardinal Gibbons. Chris Koppenhaver hit a grand slam and Alex Perez also hit a home run. Adam Saks and Matt Rothenberg had two hits each. Joe McChrystal went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, and Jorge Solano went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Coral Springs Christian 10, Westminster Academy 1 – The Crusaders (16-4) remained unbeaten in the district as they banged out 11 hits to top the Lions (8-10-1). Pemron Burrows went 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base, James Buckley went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, and Benito Santiago also had two hits, including a double, drove in four runs and stole a base. Joey Depalo hit a three-run home run, and Colin Taylor, who pitched four innings, allowing one earned run, also doubled and scored. Brandon Rodrigues struck out four in his two innings of relief.
Fort Lauderdale 11, Stranahan 1 – Matthew Gibson went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Hunter Kay went 2-for-2 with two runs and a double to help the Flying L’s (8-7) extend their winning streak to six games. Ariel Vargas, Austin Ford and Jose Lopez had two hits each for the Mighty Dragons (4-9).
West Broward 11, Miramar 1 – Christian Khawly went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs, and Luigi Perez went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs to help the Bobcats (10-5) pick up another win in 8A-12. Richie Garcia also had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run.
McArthur 6, Plantation 1 – Jesus Patricio had three hits and two stolen bases, and Brandon Santiago went 2-for-3 as the Mustangs (6-10) won their third game in 7A-16. Alex Schultz pitched five and one-third innings, striking out eight and allowing five hits.
South Broward 6, Deerfield Beach 1 – Ken Rasor pitched five innings, striking out eight and allowing one hit for the Bulldogs (12-4), who are on a five-game winning streak. John Maginnis went 1-for-2 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, run and RBI.
Nova 9, Cooper City 4 – Brandon McCalla went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two runs to lead the Titans (9-6), who rebounded from last week’s loss to Coral Springs Charter in the Titan Classic finale. The Cowboys (7-8) were led by Hunter Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with a double, run and RBI.
North Broward Prep 7, Cardinal Gibbons 0 – Hernando Sierra paced the Eagles (9-10) in the 4A-13 win, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
