Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Saturday, February 15th, 2014

Saturday brought baseball fans two Class 8A powerhouses squaring off at Flanagan High School. Gentry Fortuno threw a complete-game, two-hit shutout, striking out five as Flanagan edged Douglas 2-0 to win the Falcons Challenge title. En route to a Cardinal Gibbons victory, Chris Williams effort at the plate included a 3-for-4 day with a RBI and four stolen bases. Check out the rest of the day’s action below.

Flanagan's Gentry Fortuno silenced the bats of Douglas throwing a complete game shut out. He struck out five and allowed two hits, helping the Falcons out the gates to an impressive 3-0 start. Eric Rivera delivered an early RBI, while going 2-for-3 at the dish.

Carroll threw a complete game, striking out nine, and had no earned runs charged to him. Going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, Brendly Martina added two stolen bases for Highlands Christian.
