Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, February 19th, 2015

Tommy Taborda pitched six innings, allowing one earned run, and also doubled and drove in two runs as Calvary Christian won its second game in a row after an 0-3 start by defeating 4A-14 foe Chaminade-Madonna 7-1 on Thursday. It also was the second consecutive district win for the Eagles, placing them at the top of the district standings.

University School also earned a big win in 4A-14 by beating Coral Springs Charter 8-2 behind Evan McKendry’s 10-strikeout performance.

Eduardo Delgado drove in the winning run as part of a three-run, seventh-inning rally for Piper in its 5-4 win over Western in 8A-12.

Joey Gerber pitched a complete game as Monarch shut down Coral Springs 8-1 to improve to 3-0.

TJ Densmore pitched five strong innings for Coral Glades as the Jaguars avoided a loss by rallying for three runs in the top of the seventh after giving up six in the sixth to South Plantation. The win kept the Jags unbeaten at 4-0.

Westminster Academy also moved to 4-0 after a 10-0 win over 3A-14 rival Coral Springs Christian.
