Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, March 12th, 2015

Mitchell Carroll struck out 10 in five innings and had two hits, including the game-winner in the top of the eighth inning, to power Highlands Christian to a 3-2 win over Miami-Dade powerhouse Westminster Christian on Thursday. Swindly Lint was the winning pitcher.

Jesus Luzardo earned the win as Douglas maintained its lead at the top of 8A-11 with a 5-1 win over Taravella in which the Eagles limited the Trojans to two hits.

Davis Fouts allowed three hits in six innings to guide Westminster Academy to a 1-0 win over Oxbridge Academy in 3A-14. The Lions (9-2), who have won three in a row, are 5-0 in the district.

Joey Gerber pitched a complete game in Monarch’s 4-1 win over West Boca.
