Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, March 19th, 2015

George Helbig pitched six innings and allowed one run as Western beat Monarch 5-1 on Thursday, snapping the Knights’ six-game winning streak. It was the fourth win in a row for the Wildcats.

Eric Rath pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts in Piper’s 10-0 win over South Broward. Greg Snyder went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run.

Dominic DiCaprio’s three-run home run in the top of the third proved to be the difference in Douglas’ 4-1 win over West Broward.

Somerset Academy earned its second consecutive win following a four-game losing streak, beating 4A-14 rival University School 9-2. The win evened the Panthers’ district record to 4-4.

Taravella overcame a two-game losing streak to beat Pembroke Pines Charter 3-2, marking the first loss for the Jaguars following a six-game winning streak.
