Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, March 17th, 2015

Evan McKendry hit a three-run home run, and University School capitalized on an eight-run fourth inning to beat Calvary Christian 10-5 in a 4A-14 game Tuesday. The Suns are in fourth place in the district at 3-4.

Chase Costello pitched five innings, allowing no hits while striking out four and walking three as Pompano Beach beat Hallandale 18-0 in a 5A-16 game. The Golden Tornadoes are 5-3 in the district for fourth place.

Antonio Martinez pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts in Coconut Creek’s 6-0 win over Stranahan.

Joey Hennessey pitched six and two-thirds solid innings in Monarch’s 2-0 win over Fort Lauderdale in a 7A-14. The Knights, who have won six in a row, lead the district at 5-0.
