Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Thursday, April 9th, 2015

Cardinal Gibbons Manager Jason Hamilton earned his 300th career win as Cardinal Gibbons beat Bishop Snyder 10-1 on Thursday in the Catholic Challenge at Bishop Moore in Orlando. Nathan Pawelczyk went 2-for-2 with a home run to pace the Chiefs (15-7), who have won four in a row. Gibbons advanced to play in today’s championship.

Hamilton reflected on his career and how he got to 300 wins.

“I have been fortunate to work with great kids and mentors in my career and continue to appreciate the support of our parents and administration to make us as successful as possible,” Hamilton said.

In other games, Travis Holt hit a walk-off single in bottom of the 13th inning to lift American Heritage Plantation to a 7-6 win over American Heritage Delray. The game originally was postponed March 25 in the top of the sixth inning and was completed Thursday. It was the sixth win in a row for the Patriots.
