Archbishop McCarthy rallied from a five-run deficit to beat Mater Lakes 7-5 on Monday in a game played at Marlins Park. Kobe Lopez hit the winning inside-the-park home run, and Alex Toral smacked two homers for four RBIs. After Mater Lakes took a 5-0 lead by the end of the first, the Mavericks (5-0) battled back, scoring two in the third and three in the fourth to even the score before adding two runs in the sixth to win.
Steven Richards struck out nine in four innings and allowed no hits en route to earning the win in South Broward’s 16-0 victory over Northeast. Richards also went 4-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBIs for the Bulldogs (3-2). Noah Chang added two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs.
