Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, March 1st, 2016

Joe Sallustio fired a one-hitter to give the Piper Bengals a 2-0 win over the Monarch Knights in a non-district matchup Tuesday. Ryan Taylor doubled and drove in a run, and John Burke came through with an RBI single for Piper (6-1).

Josh Martinez drove in the winning runs in the ninth inning to lead Hallandale to a 5-2 win over McArthur.

John McKenna and Colton Welker each homered and drove in two runs to pace Douglas in a 7-0 win over Coral Springs in 9A-11. Jesus Luzardo got the win as the Eagles improved to 7-1.

Chris Brooks pitched a shutout with nine strikeouts and no walks to lead Fort Lauderdale to a 6-0 win over Plantation. Daniel Silva went 2-for-3 with three stole bases, two runs and an RBI.
