Chris Valencia went 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Josh Valencia added three hits as Cooper City beat Everglades 6-1 on Wednesday in a non-district game. Brandon Torres had two hits, and Jake Walker struck out eight for the Cowboys (9-2).

Brandon Valentin pitched five strong innings to lead Somerset Academy to a 10-0 win over Coral Springs Charter in a 5A-14 game. Luis Chavez went 3-for-3 with a home run, and Derek Cartaya went 3-for-4.
