Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

Raul Quintero went 2-for-3 with two runs as Cypress Bay rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Gulf Coast 7-6 on Tuesday. Anthony Figueroa went 1-for-1 with a triple, three RBIs and three walks for the Lightning (13-11), who have won two in a row. Jake Davis and Devin Ramirez each did well on the mound.

A six-run first inning gave Douglas momentum in a 9-4 win over Calvary Christian in which Chad McDaniel (2-for-4) drove in three, Luis Acevedo drove in two and John McKenna drove in another for Douglas (19-2), which won its sixth in a row. Max Guzman went 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs, and for Calvary (15-7).

The big inning also was helpful for Coral Springs Charter, which put up five runs in the fourth inning to top crosstown rival Coral Springs Christian 8-4. Greg Budden went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Robert Robinson went 2-for-3 with two runs and a walk for the Panthers (11-8), who have won five of their past six.
