Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Wednesday, April 27th, 2016

Pompano Beach extended its winning streak to six games by defeating LaBelle 13-1 in a 5A regional quarterfinal Wednesday. Bobby Aseere went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBIs to power the Tornadoes (19-8), who will host Somerset Academy in a rematch of Friday’s district final, which Pompano won 12-5. Max Stein went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, and Austin Carney and Jeremy Davis each drove in two runs and scored twice. Trevor Kniskern struck out three in three innings to earn the win.

Colton Walker (three RBIs, walk, double) and Ivan Nunez (walk, double) each went 2-for-3, and Brandon Auerbach added two hits and two runs for the Eagles (23-2), who will host West Broward in Tuesday’s regional semifinals. The Bobcats moved on by beating Coral Springs 6-1.
