South Broward Earns First Win Of Season Over Hollywood Hills
South Broward got the scoring going in the second inning when Noah Chang singled and then scored on a double to left-center by Ryan Nunez leading to a 4-1 win over Hollywood Hills.
In the bottom of the third inning the Bulldogs tacked on a pair of runs. Salvatore Zaremba doubled to center field and, after Yjordan Maldonado was hit by pitch, David Brown singled in Zaremba. Maldonado scored one batter later on an infield error. The Spartans were able to get out of the inning by turning an inning-ending double play.
The Bulldogs Scored again in the fifth inning when Antonio Schembari lead off the inning with a single to left-field and eventually scoring on a wild pitch.
Hollywood Hills started off the seventh inning strong putting two men on when Juan Rosario was hit by a pitch and Jorge Gonzalez singled to center field. Rosario later scored on an error to break up the shutout and get the Spartans (1-1) on the scoreboard.
Maldonado threw a complete-game, two-hitter and struck out nine to lead the way for South Broward.
