HSBN Senior Essay Scholarship Competition Award Winners
HSBN Senior Essay Scholarship Competition Awards Show
It has been a tremendous few months here at HSBN since we launched our HSBN Senior Essay Scholarship Competition. We have received over 40 essays, and we would like to congratulate all seniors who submitted an essay.
The judging of the essays was one of the most difficult things we have done here at HSBN in the 10 years we have been in existence. These seniors poured their hearts out for the entire baseball community to see, and they all should be commended on their composure and their ability to stay grounded at a time when their lives and senior years were being invaded.
We want to specifically thank the people responsible for making this essay competition happen. Dr. Gary Bofshever from Bofshever Chiropractic, Bobby Stallone from Stallone’s Family Kitchen, Wings Plus in Coral Springs, and Cloverleaf Insurance Brokers in Miami.
Additionally, we want to thank our judges, Co-Founders of HSBN Anthony & Jamie Uttariello, Editor-In-Chief Rick Duteau, Nicole Lesson, and Adina Mujica.
In this clip Northeast’s Logan Rose talks about his dad being a fireman and the dangers his family faces through the COVID-19 crisis.
We put together a group of judges with very diverse backgrounds. In addition to the HSBN staff, Nicole comes from a journalism background, and has worked with HSBN on various projects the past couple years. Adina is a graduating senior and the President of the Broward County Honor Society, who graduated from South Broward, and brought senior perspective to the judging panel.
We have put together an awards show for the competition, and are happy to bring it to you now! This is a must-watch if you want to get inside of what these seniors are going through at this pivotal time in their lives. Throughout the show, we examine the judging process, find out why some of the sponsors got involved, and talked to ALL the award winners and some of their coaches.
We hope you have enjoyed this competition, and reading these heartfelt essays each day over the past few months, and we look forward to seeing you all back out on the field in the very near future!
