Johnston Hobbs is a seasoned baseball coach, serving as the head of 224/PEKE Performance, where he specializes in baseball talent evaluation, practice structure, coaching education, and talent management. With a wealth of coaching experience, Hobbs coached the Hungarian National Team to qualify and compete for the 2023 European Championships. He has also served as the Head Coach/Field Manager for the Kokomo Jackrabbits in the Northwoods League (Collegiate) and held coaching positions with the Omaha Filthballers in the Cornbelt League and the Vermont Mountaineers in the NECBL. Coach Hobbs has won seven collegiate summer league titles in the last 12 years. After coaching Collegiate for four seasons, his HS coaching journey began as an assistant coach at Flanagan HS in Pembroke Pines, FL, where the team achieved National Champions status in 2010 and was ranked #1 twice. Hobbs now serves as head coach for the Fort Lauderdale High School baseball team. Hobbs has an extensive background as an NCAA D1 Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in the Big Ten, ACC and SEC conferences. A former professional athlete with eight seasons under his belt and experience as a bullpen catcher for three seasons, Hobbs has personally coached over 20 drafted affiliated professional players and six European League players, showcasing his impactful contributions to the world of baseball. Hobbs serves as a member of the NHSBCA National Ranking Committee as well as the National Asst Coach of the Year Committee. He has served as a guest speaker at 6 National Conventions, the ABCA Barnstormers Series, and many State organizations. Hobbs has personally coached over 20 drafted and several current MLB affiliated players as well as six European League players, showcasing his impactful contributions to the world of baseball. Hobbs has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in kinesiology and exercise sports science, focusing on Biomechanics and Sport Performance Psychology from Indiana University.
