The North team scored three runs in the top of the ninth to nip the South 9-6 in the BCAA Senior All-Star Game at Pat McQuaid Field at Nova High Wednesday night.

Coral Springs center-fielder Lewis Brinson is the District 10-6A Player of the Year, leading one of the most talented All-District teams in Broward County this season.

Douglas and Flanagan have developed a rivalry over the past couple of years, and on Friday it was the Eagles that came out on top 3-2 in a battle of two of Broward’s top teams.

Douglas’ Matt Davis threw a no-hitter against Coconut Creek and Cypress Bay Head Coach Mike White won his 200th game, highlighting action in Broward Thursday.

The Douglas Eagles used strong pitching and timely hitting to carry them to a 10-0 win over Deerfield Beach on Thursday.

The Douglas Eagles started their 2011 season strong, defeating former assistant coach Frank Pisani and his Cardinal Gibbons squad 7-0 in a preseason match up on Wednesday.
