Somerset Academy gave Charlotte Christian a run for its money and battled all seven innings Friday night, eventually falling 7-5 in the championship of the Hall of Fame Sunshine Classic.

Casey Kopec threw another gem for North Broward Prep, and the Eagles’ offense did just enough against Somsert ace Brandon Acevedo to come away with a 4-1 District 4A-13 win.

McArthur’s Dylan Segula highlighted a day of blowouts in Broward County by throwing a no-hitter in a 21-0 rout of Hollywood Hills.

A shutout performance by Casey Garcia and Chris Medina, along with a home run by Kevin Abraham, lead the way for Somerset as they beat Westminster 7-0.
