The inaugural BrowardHighSchoolBaseball.com Senior All-Star game was a huge success, with the 1A-4A team defeating the 5A-6A team, 10-9 on Saturday evening.
The North team scored three runs in the top of the ninth to nip the South 9-6 in the BCAA Senior All-Star Game at Pat McQuaid Field at Nova High Wednesday night.
Flanagan’s Mike Melendez’ arm and bat helped Flanagan to the regional finals this season, and earned Melendez the District 12-6A Player of the Year award.
Flanagan is headed back to the 6A regional finals after defeating district rival West Broward in a semi-final game, 12-2. Ricky Santiago led the way with two home runs for the Falcons.
Tyler Draughon pitched 4 and 2/3’s innings of relief for West Broward as they beat District Champions McArthur and advance to the regional semifinal.
Flanagan beat the West Broward with their bats, gloves, and on the mound to win the 12-6A District Title. On Tuesday they will host South Plantation in a regional quarterfinal game.
Flanagan avenged an earlier loss to West Broward Thursday and in the process the Falcons secured the top seed in the District 12-6A playoffs with a 9-7 win over the Bobcats.
West Broward remained perfect in district play with a 4-1 win over Western Monday. The Bobcats will now turn their attention to a Thursday match up with second place Flanagan.
West Broward moved to the top of the District 12-6A standings with a 4-3 win over rival Flanagan on Wednesday night. Luigi Perez hit the game-winning single for the Bobcats.
West Broward, led by sophomore Luigi Perez, won their second district game of the week Friday, defeating Everglades 5-2.
West Broward joined Western and Flanagan at the top of the District 12-6A standings with a 4-2 win at home over Cypress Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
