HSBN 2011 Fall Classic Power Showcase Home Run Derby
Saturday - November 5, 2011 @ Flanagan High School - Starts at 6pm
What better way to kick off the 2011 HSBN Fall Classic than with 500 ft. bombs? Okay, so maybe Dan Vogelbach won't be hitting, but there will be thrilling competition amongst the most powerful hitters in the tri-county area.
Up to 50 players from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami will compete in two rounds to see who will be crowned the Fall 2011 HSBN/Power Showcase Home Run Derby Champion. Beyond that, the champion will win a free entry into the Power Showcase World Classic Home Run Derby to be held at Chase Field in Arizona. Airfare will also be paid for the winner, with the combined package totaling more that $1,800. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

 Well, Power Showcase, the company that runs the aforementioned international homerun derby, has enthusiastically agreed to run our 2011 Fall Classic Home Run Derby. That means we will be getting the most advanced pitching machines, official measurements of home runs hit, and exposure to an experience not common in every high school baseball community. |

In the first round, players will get 15 outs. The top seven home run hitters from round one will move on to the championship round. If ties occur, up to ten players may make the championship round.
In the championship round, players will get 12 outs. The champion will be determined after the final round. The atmosphere will be festive, with music playing throughout the event, and a live announcer delivering home run distances, player intros, and other information throughout the competition. The concession stand will also be open for all of your food and beverage needs, so bring the entire family out and enjoy a night of long ball under the lights. Entry fee for all non-participants is $5 at the gate. There are still several spots open, so if you think you have what it takes to win a trip to Chase Field in Arizona, contact us.
